Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto no. 2 (Brief Encounter) A selection of celebrated themes from the movies and television to include Schindler's List, Indiana Jones, The Harry Potter Suite, Jurassic Park, ET and others.

The Orpheus Sinfonia's annual gala concert this year takes Orpheus to Hollywood for a journey around the stars. A feast of music from the movies is performed by this sensational young orchestra, which has a glowing reputation for energy, vigour and panache and was recently acclaimed in the Evening Standard. John Williams's spellbinding Harry Potter Suite follows his electrifying soundtrack from Jurassic Park and swash-buckling theme from Indiana Jones. These are spectacularly complimented by a complete performance of Rachmaninoff's mighty second piano concerto by Marc Corbett-Weaver, the haunting theme from Schindler's List with Leonard Schreiber, and Mathieu van Bellen's sprightly rendition of the Danse Macabre, famous both in its own right and as the soundtrack to Jonathan Creek. This showcase of delights is simply not to be missed!
