Fasten your seat belts for the Orpheus Sinfonia's whistle-stop European tour! In a new initiative for 2011, this performance is generously sponsored by four couples, each of whom are regular supporters of the Orpheus Foundation. The evening sets off triumphantly with J S Bach's second Brandenburg Concerto, followed by Thomas Gould's interpretation of Bach's lost violin concerto in G minor. Thomas' next port of call is Beethoven's heart-rending G-major Romance. We then journey to Seville where the Icelandic mezzo Sigridur Osk will sing Cherubino's arias from Le Nozze di Figaro. Finally, London beckons, and Haydn's final symphony takes us all home.
